From the depths of the ocean to the heart of the rainforest, each awareness day offers a chance to spotlight the natural world and the threats it faces. But more than that, they’re a reminder that we all have a part to play. Here’s what’s happening this June, and how you can help WWF bring our world back to life.
World Rainforest Day – June 22nd 2025
Rainforests are vital to life on Earth - storing carbon, purifying water, and sheltering more than half the world’s species. Yet they’re being cleared at alarming rates for agriculture and development.
World Rainforest Day is a call to action: to protect and restore these rich ecosystems before it’s too late. You can help by avoiding products linked to deforestation (like unsustainable palm oil or beef), supporting reforestation projects, or donating to protect rainforests like the Amazon.

Adopt a Sea turtle for world turtle day - June 16th 2025
Love sea turtles and want to help protect them? You can support WWF on World Turtle Day by learning more about sea turtles below, supporting turtle-safe tourism, choosing plastic-free alternatives, and adopting a sea turtle with WWF. We want to protect sea turtles and make sure as many as possible make it to adulthood - adopting a sea turtle today will help WWF protect sea turtles through efforts to remove plastic pollution from the ocean, as well as hatchling protection on beaches.
World Ocean Day - June 8th 2025
Home to so many brilliant species, this is a day to celebrate our amazing oceans around the world. Oceans regulate our climate, produce over half the world’s oxygen, and are home to an incredible variety of wildlife - from tiny plankton to mighty whales.
But they’re under threat from pollution, overfishing, and climate change. This World Ocean Day, support sustainable seafood choices, reduce single-use plastic, or adopt a marine animal to back marine conservation efforts that help restore our seas.

Great Big Green Week – June 7th–15th 2025
Across the UK we’ll see schools, businesses, churches, mosques and more coming together for the country’s display of community action to fight climate change. Find out more about the Great Big Green Week, and look for an event near you to show your support for a greener future. You can even host your own event to bring together like-minded people who care about taking action against climate change.
World Environment Day – June 5th 2025
