How to Help WWF this October

Find out which big events are coming up this month where you can best support WWF.

World Animal Day 2024 (October 4th)

Together, we can make a better world for animals. World Animal Day acts as a key reminder for us to preserve and protect the wildlife that enriches the world we live in.

When is World Animal Day?

World Animal Day officially takes place on October 4th. Every action counts so while October 4th marks a great place to start helping animals - you can help all year around!

How can you help animals for World Animal Day?

We've come up with five key ways you can help us safeguard the most vulnerable animals this month:

  1. Adopt an endangered animal from £3 a month
  2. Donate to save the Amazon, which thousands of animals call home
  3. Learn about the species that WWF protects, from African elephants to porpoises
  4. Play the WWF lottery - the proceeds go back to protecting animals
  5. Fundraise at work, school, or on your own - even through gaming!

International Snow Leopard Day 2024 (October 23rd)

October 23rd represents a chance to unite in support of one of the world's most elusive and endangered big cats. At WWF, we're dedicated to preserving the fragile mountain ecosystems that these magnificent cats call home. You can help by supporting our conservation programs that work to combat poaching, protect habitats, and promote sustainable livelihoods for communities living alongside snow leopards.

If you'd like to support, you can adopt a snow leopard today.

International Panda Day 2024 (October 27th)

Did you know that less than 2,000 giant pandas remain in the wild?

We work tirelessly with local groups and governments to create a world in which giant pandas will be able to flourish in bamboo forests. We aim to achieve this by protecting their habitats, standing against poaching, and running community education programs. By spreading awareness about the challenges pandas face and advocating for sustainable practices, you can help ensure these gentle giants continue to thrive in the wild.

You can check out our top facts about giant pandas below, and if you'd like to help make sure the number of giant pandas only continues to increase, you can adopt a giant panda today.
